ADPS Performance Research Lab is a new cross disciplinary group dedicated to daily practice training, devising new work, and experimenting with the actors craft.

We are currently in creative development of our new work 'SLOW' and have just been awarded a Fresh Grounds Artist Residency at the Judith Wright Centre (2011). See the link below and watch this space for updates on our progress.

Who are we?

Brenda Monaghan (Director/theatre maker)

Brenda’s Bio

Belinda Raisin (performer/theatre maker)

Belinda completed her Bachelor of Theatre Arts (Acting) at the University of Southern Queensland (2008). In her final year she was awarded a Queensland Arts Scholarship by the Queensland Arts Council. She has also trained intensively in various film and theatre techniques with Tom McSweeney, Aimee Blesing, Michael Futcher , Andrea Moore (2009) and Tim Littleton (2010). Her professional credits include: Queensland Theatre Company ‘THE WORKS’ in Angela Betzien’s ‘The Dark Room’ (June 2010); Brisbane Short & Sweet productions ‘Cate Blanchett Wants to be my Friend on Facebook’ and ‘3X3X’ (2009); ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (USQ), ‘Mad Forest’ (USQ); ‘A Chorus Line’ Dir: Penny Farrow (2009) and ‘Cabaret’ Dir: Lewis Jones (2008). Film credits: ‘Living & Dying at Hotel Broadway’ (feature film) Blacmac Productions (2009), and (short films) ‘30 Second Love’, ‘Silent Company’ and ‘Black Ice Trailer’ (2009). She is a member of the cabaret ensemble THE DUVETS and performed in ‘Under the Covers’ (June 2010). Belinda is also a professionally trained dancer and singer. She has been training intensively in Grotowski based techniques at ADPS since January (2010).

Jane Barry (performer/theatre maker)

Jane completed her Bachelor of Theatre Arts (Acting) at the University of Southern Queensland (2008). She has also trained intensively in practical aesthetics and theatre techniques with Andrea Moor and Margi Brown Ash. Her professional credits include: ‘An Ugly Stillness’ National Play Festival (2010); ‘Ten by Ten’ ‘Toot’- Emerge Project (2009); (USQ) ‘The Tempest’ Dir: Andrea Moor (2009); (USQ) ‘Tempest in a Teacup’ Dir: Daniel White, Scott Alderdice (2009); (USQ) ‘Boomier Times’ Dir: Sophie Martin (2009); ‘Butterflies over the Sea of Japan’ Duende Theatre Company -Metro Arts independents (2005), ‘The Madness of King Lear’ Qld Shakespeare Ensemble (2005), ‘Comedy of Errors’ Qld Shakespeare Ensemble- Metro Arts Independents (2005), The Crucible directed by Nerida Jaanista Harvest Rain TC (2004). She has worked as a Drama Facilitator in ‘Borallon Correctional Centre’ as part of the Arts Community Enhancement Project (2010). Jane also works as a professional voice over artist. She has been training intensively in Grotowski based techniques at ADPS since January (2010).
